Biodiversity All Over the Place
(An educational documentary on biodiversity, K3 – K5, for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.)
“… (the Biodiversity video) is still being heralded by my higher ups as a showpiece of the education division, here at Great Smoky Mountains National Park.”

Biodiversity All Over the Place and I Can See Clearly Now
(Two separate educational video tools for K3 – K5; I Can See Clearly Now addresses clean air education and issues.)
“I was impressed by the air quality and biodiversity videos.  They breathe vitality, humor, and real knowledge into subjects that usually stay veiled and distant, especially to children.  Take a deep bow…”

“We use the video (Biodiversity All Over the Place) quite a lot as a pre-site activity for our 3rd grade field trip unit … We also use the air quality video (I Can See Clearly Now) as a pre-site for our 7th grade field trip.  It is amazing how well the kids retain the concepts after viewing either of those videos.  It really makes a big difference in the quality of the program if they haven't seen it.”

It’s All About Dreams
(A video for S.T.E.A.M. - Success Through Education and Motivation - a successful after-school program for at-risk teens in Asheville, NC.)
"This is the BEST program video I have ever seen in all of my years working for the foundation... I am going to share it with many people.”

Staff, The Mott Foundation

“I was so moved, Debra, by the STEAM video.  I really appreciate that you and Rick saw so beautifully into the real meaning of that group’s vision.  Wow.  I want to volunteer!  Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Do the Right Thing
(Documentary educating engineers, decision makers, and citizens around North America on the dangers of lead in drinking water for infants and children.  DVD premiered at a North American Civic Water Engineers Conference in Quebec, Canada and as a result, the city fathers voted to go “no lead” in all future city pipes / plumbing; other N. American cities also followed suit.)
“Dearest Debra, Rick and I are so very grateful for the Universe's gift to us … you. Your thoughts, insights, caring, loving manner and your professionalism for something that is so very dear to us has made this whole process delightful …  Kudos to you.”

The Awakening of Turtle Island: Portraits of Native Americans
"The unique gift of Tracey Schmidt's exhibit is that it is not only a fine art exhibit, but an educational one as well. This is a very unusual combination, and one that museums and cultural centers should take advantage of."

Lucinda Bunnen
The Lubo Foundation of Atlanta

"When our Olympic visitors left the three exhibits we had on display about native Americans, they were always talking about one thing: Tracey Schmidt's The Awakening of Turtle Island, Portraits of Native Americans."

Tina Delamiter, Board of Directors
Scott Hudgins Museum and Fine Arts Center
(During the 1996 display in Atlanta for the Olympics)

"We had more children and schools come to this exhibit than any other we have ever had. It was enormously valuable in educating people in an inspiring and unique way. I was stunned by how many people not only read all of the lengthy text panels, but brought their children and husbands back on Saturday to read them again. People are hungry for this kind of perspective."

Docent
The Thomasville Cultural Center

"Thank you for the beauty and passion you have shown us today. This exhibit has taught me many valuable lessons about native people, and opened my eyes. I want more!"

"The way bees work together is a lesson for us all.
They produce food, care for the young, recycle waste and create an effective, efficient community.  They pollinate fruits, flowers and vegetables in the process - a benefit for us all."
